Dominican Republic Trip (November 10th-17th, 2012)

My company (CourseTrends) sent a team of eight to volunteer for one week with Makarios International in the Dominican Republic. We were intended to help out with some construction work at their school in Montellano, Puerto Plata. As it happened though, a flash flood hit them the night before we began traveling. As a result we were instead needed for immediate help in flood cleanup and recovery at the school, so that it could reopen for students as soon as possible. Around all of the very hard work, we did also manage to get in some beach time both in country and during our long layovers in Miami.

Hideaway Ranch Trip (September 1st-3rd, 2012)

Amy and I went on vacation to Hideaway Ranch in Glen Rose, Texas along with my two dogs. We stayed in a cabin there and had great fun wandering around their trails and such. This was the first time my dog Brenya had ever gone walking off-leash with me. And she did great!
